OBJECTIVES OF THE MINIATURE HORSE FEDERATION INC.

​

The objectives of the Federation are to raise the standard, credibility and quality of the Miniature Horse, and the ethics within the industry by:

  • ​Creating and maintaining a registry of Miniature, Small and Little Horses that meet the standard and requirements of the rules of the Federation.

  • Protecting the integrity of the registry and the correctness of information of all horses entered to the best ability of the Federation from information supplied by members.

  • Educating all interested in Miniature Horses in the care and well being of Miniature Horses generally, and the safe and responsible handling of horses in public.

  • To stand by our concern about the care of Miniature Horses, The Federation will, whenever possible, sponsor approved recognized organisations established for the rescue of Miniature Horses.

  • Educating all interested in Miniature Horses about undesirable traits and genetic unsoundness of horses and the selective breeding to eradicate such undesirable traits and genetic unsoundness.

  • Encouraging breeders of Miniature Horses to breed to the Standard of Excellence and strive to improve on each generation.

  • Encouraging members of the Federation to familiarise themselves with the Code of Ethics and act within the Federations Code of Ethics.

  • Promoting the Miniature Horse to the general public.

  • Holding educational clinics.

  • Holding shows of a superior standard.

  • Creating and maintaining an accredited Miniature Horse judges list.

  • To produce and publish a stud book of the Federation as deemed required.

  • To keep members informed of all committee rules changes and decisions that affect the membership, and of all the forthcoming activities of the Federation.

  • To liaise with bodies that are established for the wellbeing and safe management of horses, and all involved with the handling thereof.

  • To pursue that all Miniature Horses, Small Horses and Little Horses are bred to the highest standard possible this includes females, entires and geldings.  Geldings should be of the same quality as females and entires.

CONSTITUTION

​

The Federation's Constitution and Registry has been designed to raise the standards, quality and ethics in the Miniature Horse Industry and to develop a true miniature horse type breed.

 

The Federation encourages interested persons to read the Federation's Constitution and Registry Rules so they understand what is required of members
