Horse must be 48 months of actual age or over to compete in this event.

 

 

This is a timed event.

 

Six jumps are set out in a semi-circle with a maximum height of 26’ with all the jumps set to the same height.  The winner is the horse with zero faults with the fastest time.   

 

If a horse faults that competitor is out.  If no horse has a clear round, then there is no winner and no ribbons awarded.

 

If two horses with zero faults and the exact same time occur then they will be required to do another round.

 

Tipping the rail is not a fault (unless the rail drops).

 

Judges decision is final.

 

 

Faults causing Elimination

  • Horse getting free from handler

  • Refusal

  • Handler jumping obstacle with horse

  • Knock down

  • Failure to follow course

Disqualifications

 

  • Exhibitor disrespectful towards judge

  • Horse is aggressive towards handler

  • Handler shows unnecessary intimidation towards the horse or abusive  behaviour towards the horse

 

Prohibited Items

  • Whips or any other item carried to hit horse

  • Leads with loops at the end

  • Chains

  • Bits

  • Metal on ends of leads
