Invitation to all interested persons in becomming a marshalling steward!

LEARN THE PROCEDURE TO BE AN ACCREDITED RING AND MARSHALLING STEWARD WITH MHF INC.

Miniature Horse Federation recognizes the importance of the work done by stewards.

MHF values the work done by these officials and encourages new people to become involved in this side of showing. Stewarding is an excellent opportunity to work with judges and learn what they are looking for in the horses presented before them in the ring. Stewarding also gives one the chance to become more familiar with the judging process, thus reducing the stress involved in entering the ring with one's own horse. Stewards have learnt the ring 'drill' without the stress of having a horse to present as well.

MHF look after their stewards and at MHF shows stewards will be supplied with morning and/or afternoon teas, and a satisfying lunch and/or dinner, as dictated by the programme. Stewards have the opportunity to socialize with the judges at these meals.

Ring stewards are VERY important as they run the ring, leaving the judge free to assess and judge the horses presented. Without ring steward's shows would not be possible. At larger shows their are two stewards - the ring steward who runs the ring; and the ribbon steward who organizes the ribbons etc. ready for awards.

Marshalling stewards are often required at shows as well. The marshalling steward organizes the exhibitors before they enter the ring. Basic organizational skills are a benefit for marshalling stewards. Marshalling stewards will make a show run smoothly, as the next class to be judged will be ready to enter the ring on the completion of the previous class. Marshalling stewards are a must at pre-entry shows.

These positions are of utmost importance. They are not difficult to fulfill and execute. The simple no stress training session offered by MHF will give one all the knowledge they will need to accomplish the task of steward, and have an enjoyable time as well.

Please register your interest with the Secretary of MHF, include your name, contact email and/or phone number (not mobile phones please) and location.
