MINIATURE HORSE FEDERATION INC - GOLD STAR STUDS SYSTEM EXPLAINED

Please Note:: The Gold Star Stud System is NOT a Registry Requirement, it is NOT compulsery. It is an individual decision if a stud wishes to go for Gold Stars.

Please Note: There have been changes made to the Gold Star DNA and Veterinary Soundness requirements to help make the achievment of these stars more economically viable for members.

Application Forms for the Gold Star Studs can be downloaded from the Federation Website or can be obtained from the Federation Secretary.

Studs can take their time to attain each gold star. There is no time limit to acquiring each star and studs can start at any time in the present or future.

This is a rating system designed to encourage Federation breeders to:

  • Achieve the requirements of the future set out in the Federation Inc. constitution in their current breeding horses.
  • To give credibility to their studs, horses and themselves.
  • To demonstrate they are ethical in their dealings with others
  • To show they have a thorough management system within their stud.
  • To display confidence in their horses soundness

Studs that achieve the Five Gold Star Rating will:

  • Have their studs always advertised on the Federation Web Site on the Gold Star page
  • Have their stud mentioned in the Federation magazine on the Gold Star Stud page
  • Have their studs on gold stars displayed at National shows
  • Will receive a certificate acknowledging their Five Gold Star rating achievement which will be given out as annual certificate of ongoing excellence, as long as the stud keeps up the requirements in it's future management.

Studs that do not keep up the following requirements will lose their gold star stud status. Which means they will no longer receive the above benefits of being a Gold Star stud.
